| Part of what makes Merriman Park Elementary such a great school is our ability as a PTA to raise funds for staff support and educational enrichment. Through various fundraising throughout the year, the PTA is able to assist with various needs of the school: from supporting special field trips for students to the hiring of a dedicated Outdoor Learning Specialist. These enhancements would not be possible without the dedicated efforts of our PTA fundraising and the generous community that supports our school. | |

| Set in September each year, the Fall Carnival has become a Community wide event. This event has everything you’d expect to see in a good-old fashioned school carnival: from face and hair painting to bounce houses to opportunities to reach into the treasure box or put your teacher in “Jail.” With plenty of food, fun and prizes, this event has become our most “fun” fundraiser. | |

The annual Auction and
Dinner is our largest fundraiser and also one heck of a great party.
With a full dinner, a professional auctioneer and live music, the
auction is an event that parents look forward to all year. We
average over 300 items in the silent auction ranging from restaurant
gift certificates to American Girl Dolls. We also have various
teacher outings for sale including Making Cookies with your Teacher
or playing flag football with your teacher. A highlight of the
auction is signing your student up to play in the annual
Student-Faculty Kickball Game held each Spring. The proceeds from the auction average over $50,000 (after expenses) which allow us to provide many educational enhancements for the kids at MPE. |

shop at Tom Thumb this is an easy and quick way to earn money for
the PTA. Tom Thumb pays MPE 1% of the total accumulated
purchases in its ‘account’. We earned over $5000 last year.
You can have up to 3 organizations linked to your Reward Card.
The application
(.pdf) is good for new applicants or updating your existing
card. MPE PTA code is #3058. |

| It is very easy to switch - fill out the attached Cirro Energy application and send it back to your child’s teacher or mail it in yourself. MPE will get up to $10 per month per Cirro account and you don't have to do anything but use electricity in your home. Download the form (.pdf) here. | |

Cell Phones |
|
| MPE earns $3
per phone and $2 for each inkjet cartridge collected. Ask around
your office, and you’ll be amazed at the old cell phones you can
collect for MPE! Bring your old cell phones and printer cartidges to the MPE Office and we will recycle them for you. You'll be doing the environment a favor and helping out the PTA. |
