Volunteers Needed!  Please consider volunteering for the PTa next year!

Current Open Positions:

  • Holiday Extravaganza Co-Chair - Help organize and assist committee chairs on getting their piece of the puzzle ready to have a successful event. You will have a Co-Chair who has been a part of Holiday Extravaganza event for several years. The hope is that the new Co-Chair will be willing and able to continue the event in future years with their own Co-chair. This position starts in late August and end Dec 3rd.
  • Carpool Takeover - Work with the VP of Volunteers and the Co-Presidents to schedule monthly Carpool Takeover days. Create a sign-up genius and have the Room Parent Coordinators send out to the Room Parents two weeks in advance. Follow up with VP of Volunteers if more parents are needed for the month.. Follow up with volunteers after the Carpool Takeover by sending a note via sign-up genius thanking them for their help. 
  • Paws for Reading - Our PAWS person organizes weekly volunteers to bring friendly dogs (we have a few regulars who would probably like to come back) to read with 1st grade struggling readers. The teachers identify approx. 2 students per class and the dogs and volunteers come for about 1 hour each week. The same kids read to the dogs each week. There is a celebration at the end of the year where the students receive a reward.
  • Drama Club Director, Co-Director & Producer (3-4 separate positions)- Manages all aspects of MPE’s annual Drama Club production including: securing theater location for production and recruiting volunteers (to assist with auditions, choreography, vocal instruction, production, costumes, rehearsals, finances, ticket sales, fund raising, playbill, photography, etc.).Holds auditions in September, leads rehearsals October-February, and manages performance the last weekend in February.  Manages Drama Club budget and works with outside vendors as needed to fulfill needs for sound, lighting, etc.  If interested, please reach out to GG Daly at dalygg@gmail.com

Re-register as a MPE volunteer!

Fulton County Schools have a plan in place to purge all volunteers on a bi-annual basis (every 2 years), this May 31, 2020 is the end of a two-year period.


What you need to know:

  • All persons wanting to volunteer in the Fulton County School District after June 1, 2020 must sign up on the district website, www.fultonschools.org/Page/9539 .  Even if you have volunteered in the past you must sign up, as if it is your very first time.
  • Volunteers who complete the process will be valid from June 1, 2020 until May 31, 2022.
  • Volunteers will be able to register beginning June 1, 2020.   
  • All prior volunteering records will be purged from our database effective May 31, 2020. 
  • Once you register to volunteer, you are in the system. You will NOT receive a confirmation.
  • Please only sign up using Laptop or Desktop computer, mobile and tablet devices sometimes have issues with the application.
  • Once you are registered, the next step will be to show your identification at school, once we are back.

We are pleased to present a digital version of this year's Art Installation with our MPE families. Many thanks goes to Paula Brett and the PTA Cultural Arts Committee for their time and creativity on this project that included all the students at MPE.  The permanent version will be installed outside the Art room over the summer.
